The Boerne girls’ basketball team won its 10th straight game to improve to 22-3 with a blowout 78-25 road win over Bandera on Jan. 7.
It was a dominant all-around performance by the Greyhounds who out-shot Bandera 48% to 22%. Boerne had 40 rebounds in the game to only 18 for Bandera. There was also a huge differential in the assist department with Boerne assisting on 23 scoring plays and Bandera recording just four. Defensively the Greyhounds were a force with 23 steals and Bandera had nine in the game.
Boerne is now 22-3 on the season and has outscored its opponents by a lopsided 1447 to 886.
The Boerne boys’ basketball team had a road matchup against San Antonio Christian on Jan. 7 and came away with a 60-53 win to improve to 17-6 with the Greyhounds' sixth straight victory.
The Greyhounds had three players in double figures, led by senior Devin Styles, who had 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting. He just missed a double/double with nine boards, two assists and a steal.
Junior Houston Hendrix had a double/double with 15 points and 10 boards, in a game where he did well getting to the free throw line, going 9-for-14. He was 3-for-4 from the field. He also had four assists and a steal. Junior Trevor Agarwal added 10 points to go with three assists and a steal in the win.
As a team, Boerne shot 49% to 37% for San Antonio, to control game flow and the final outcome.
