Boerne High's year in football showed strength on both sides of the ball

The Boerne Greyhounds had an excellent season in which they went to the regionals in the Conference 4A Division I tournament and finished with a 9-3 record.

The team’s passing attack was led by senior quarterback Rashawn Galloway, who threw for 3,241 yards to go with 33 touchdown and seven interceptions, and a 59.2% completion percentage. He also had an impressive QB rating of 114.8. Galloway was also a force on the ground, running for 442 yards with 10 touchdowns, at 5.8 yards per carry.

Riley Pechacek rushed for a team-high 568 yards in his junior season. He averaged 8.5 yards per carry and had seven touchdowns. Sophomore Chance Gentry ran the ball 114 times for 323 yards and three touchdowns. Senior Adrian Cuervo had 315 yards on 64 rushes with four touchdowns. Houston Hendrix also had four touchdown runs on 11 carries, where he ran for 45 yards. 

Senior Koby Hunter was the number-one target in the air, receiving the ball 46 times for 877 yards and 12 touchdowns. Pechacek had 40 catches for 699 yards and five touchdowns. Senior Justin Moore caught 33 passes for 557 yards and five scores. Camden Johnson caught 22 passes for 361 yards and had five touchdowns. Hendrix had 18 receptions for 297 and four touchdowns. Gentry had caught 10 balls for 138 yards and a pair of touchdowns and Johnpaul Castro had three catches for 48 yards, which included a touchdown.

Leading the defense was senior Will Pearson, who had 107 tackles, including 48 solo, eight interceptions and two fumble recoveries. Hendrix also had a pair of picks and a fumble recovery to go with 101 tackles. Sophomore McCoy Bruce had three interceptions. 

Freshman Hutson Hendrix had 84 tackles. Samuel Kennell had 96 tackles including 12 for a loss. Tanner Lundy and Caleb Hamby each had five sacks to lead the team. Lundy also record 78 tackles and Hamby had 35 tackles. Senior Jose Aparicio had 57 tackles including 12 for a loss. Junior Landon Lestourgeon added 72 tackles.

Overall the Greyhounds had 3,322 passing yards and 1,834 rushing yards, for an average of 429.7 yards per game. The team amassed 5,714 all purpose yards this season. Defensively Boerne recorded 25.5 sacks, 16 interceptions, 12 fumble recoveries and 11 caused fumbles. The Greyhounds outscored opponents 471 to 319.
