The Boerne Greyhounds continued to play solid basketball this season, notching a tight 54-52 overtime win over the Somerset Bulldogs to improve to 7-2 and take a fourth straight victory.
Boerne had a team advantage in the rebound department, snagging 31 boards, compared to 20 for the Bulldogs. The Greyhounds shot 49% compared to Somerset’s 37%, which included a 44% clip from beyond the arc. Boerne was solid from the free-throw line at 79%.
Juniors Trevor Agarwal and Houston Hendrix both shot the ball well, putting up 15 points apiece on 75% and 67% shooting, respectively. Hendrix got to the free-throw line often, and he was on fire there, hitting all six of his shots, which proved to be a major difference-maker in the outcome.
Agarwall also had three rebounds, an assist and a block. Hendrix had four boards and five assists.
Also hitting double figures was senior Devin Styles with 11 points, who added 10 boards for a double/double. He also had three assists and a pair of steals.
Junior Barrett Pape had nine points to go with four rebounds, an assist and a steal. Junior Jeffrey Brown had three points and two rebounds and junior Koen Wolff added a point, a steal and three assists.
