Boerne-Champion boys hoops has solid week to improve to 10-4

The Boerne-Champion boys basketball team played a lot of hoops and had a solid week going 5-1 to improve to 10-4 on the season.

On Dec. 2, the Chargers were in tournament play and had a dominant performance in a 103-33 win over Tuloso-Midway.

The same day, the Chargers beat Laredo LBJ in convincing fashion with a 78-38 win. Boerne-Champion had four players in double figures and senior Braxton Burdick was the star of the game with a 23-point showing to go along with three assists, three steals and a rebound. Senior Jesse Peart also had a strong game with 15 points and six boards. Junior Braden Baum put up 15 points, six boards, two assists and a steal and sophomore Charlie George put up 10 points, eight rebounds and an assist.

On Dec. 3, Boerne-Champion won a close battle with Cole by a score of 53-50. The clear advantage in the game was assists, with Boerne-Champion assisting on 14 scores and Cole with seven assists.

Also on Dec. 3, Boerne-Champion won 42-36 over Nixon.

On Dec. 4, The Chargers had another close matchup, but this time took a 58-50 loss to Clemens. Clemens High School took advantage of a major differential in shot efficiency, shooting 55% compared to 25% for the Cougars.

Boerne-Champion wrapped up the week with a district win over Dripping Springs by a score of 54-43 on Dec. 7.
