The Boerne Greyhounds (6-2, 3-0 DL) increased their winning streak to five in a row with a 51-21 rout over the Somerset Bulldogs (6-2, 2-1). The Greyhounds scored early and often and dominated the air game in controlling the flow.
The Greyhounds were led by quarterback Rashawn Galloway, who completed 19 of 29 passes for 447 yards and 5 touchdowns, including an 80-yarder to junior Camden Johnson. Due to Galloway’s game control in the air, the 'Hounds only rushed 15 times for 26 yards, and senior Adrian Cuervo got half of that on two carries.
Johnson was Galloway’s favorite target with 7 catches for 191 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and senior Koby Hunter caught 5 for 108 yards and a TD.
Senior Justin Moore and sophomore Chance Gentry each caught a TD.
On defense, senior Will Pearson was in on 9 tackles (5 solos and 4 assists) and senior Tanner Lundy was in on 7 (2 solos and 5 assists). Pearson also had two interceptions, and the 'Hounds recovered four fumbles – one each by Lundy, Koen Wolff, Samuel Kennel and Caleb Hamby.
The Greyhounds (6-2) will take on the Lavernia Bears (2-6) on Friday, with the Bears having previously lost to Somerset, 21-14.
