There were 246 students enrolled in Medina ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 7.9% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.4% of them were girls, and 47.6% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 63% of the Medina ISD total enrollment.

Medina ISD roughly covers schools within Bandera County with its main office in Medina.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
