5.5% of Bexar County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Bexar County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 55,818 people out of the 1,990,522 living in Bexar County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Bexar County has decreased compared to the 5.6% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Bexar County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 960,742 people who had a job during that time, 21,446 were employed in the Armed Forces and 939,296 belonged to the civilian labor force.
