DECEMBER 21, 2022 — As San Antonio prepares for the freezing temperatures that are expected to reach the area Thursday night and extend through Sunday, UTSA is readying its response plans to ensure continued operations. The campus is scheduled to remain open and activities and events will take place as planned.
To accommodate students, faculty and staff in need of assistance, warming stations will be available on the UTSA Main Campus.
The John Peace Library will serve as a warming center during its normal hours, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, and Friday, December 23. A second warming center will open for the weekend in the Student Union II (located in the same building as the Campus bookstore), which will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 24 and Sunday, December 25.
Staff supervisors are encouraged to implement remote operations on Friday as appropriate based on staff availability and business needs.
UTSA reminds everyone to stay winter wise over the coming days. Be sure to dress in layers when outside and avoid prolonged exposure to the wind and cold.
