Franklin Covey presented the Alamo Colleges District with the Greatness Award during the company’s Higher Education Leadership Summit recently held at Palo Alto College.
Instituted in 1995, the Franklin Covey’s Greatness Awards recognize clients who have affected measurable change in their organizations through the passionate, committed use of Franklin Covey tools and principles.
“We are honored to receive this prestigious honor from Franklin Covey,” said Dr. Mike Flores, Alamo Colleges District Chancellor. “This award is a testament to our talented faculty and staff who are committed to being exceptional leaders, building the very best teams, having a students-first culture and driving real change in our community through the power of education.”
This is only the third Greatness Award presented at a Franklin Covey Leadership Higher Education Summit and the first Greatness Award that has been awarded to a higher education system.
The award was presented to the Alamo Colleges for exhibiting excellence in areas of Employee Development and Leadership, Student Success and Leadership and Organization Effectiveness by executing on specific goals leading to success and awards such as the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, which was presented to the Alamo Colleges in 2018, and the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence presented to San Antonio College in 2021.
