Seguin-Guadalupe County Public Library recently issued the following announcement.
Seguin Public Library and KLRN Present a Free Preview Screening of Missing in Brooks County Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 4:00p.m.
Ahead of its nationwide broadcast on PBS' Independent Lens on January 31, the stunning new documentary MISSING IN BROOKS COUNTY – which Variety Magazine predicts will soon be nominated for an Oscar – will be shown to the public, free of charge, through a partnership between PBS, Mano Amiga & Lost River Film Fest.
In Brooks County, Texas – not even two-hundred miles south of Seguin – roughly 2,000 people have died trying to migrate into the U.S. since 2008.
Eddie Canales, director of the South Texas Human Rights Center – the humanitarian activist profiled throughout the film, whose tireless efforts enable heartbroken families to recover the remains of loved ones who perished in the Texas wilderness – will be in attendance at the screening, to participate in a Q&A.
The free screening is made possible by Caldwell/Hays Examiner, Mano Amiga, Lost River Film Fest, PBS Indie Lens Pop-Up, and Seguin Public Library.
