Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas) said federal funds worth more than $30.6 million will be provided to Texas school districts to improve education while protecting teachers and students from COVID-19.

The funds, which come from the Department of Education, will go to East Central, Randolph Field, Judson and North East ISDs.

“As someone who has experienced the transformative power of education, I am pleased to have helped secure this grant for our local school districts,” Cuellar said. “We must invest in the educational needs and interests of Texas students, because they are the most important asset for our country’s future. As a senior member on the Appropriations Committee, I will continue to support our school systems by providing them the necessary resources they need in order to provide high quality education in all Texas classrooms.”

East Central ISD will receive $2.6 million; Randolph Field ISD will receive $44,193; Judson ISD will receive $7.6 million and North East ISD will receive  $20.3 million.
