The University of Texas at San Antonio has received $3.2 million in grants from the U.S. Department of Justice.
“The University of Texas at San Antonio is receiving more than $3.2 million in research grants due to the incredible potential of its students and professors right here in Texas," Rep. Will Hurd (R-Texas) said in a release. "UTSA is a leading research institution, last year reaching a new record of $80.6 million for research expenditures. These research projects benefit the university, its students and faculty and provide expert information and advice to policymakers and officials at all levels of government. I’m proud the Department of Justice recognizes the incredible potential of UTSA.”
Grant funds will be used to investigate the causes and correlation of delinquency and drug use during childhood, study the financial consequences of victimization after a crime, and follow-up two National Institute of Justice school safety projects in San Antonio.
