The San Antonio Food Bank received an $83,500 grant from Starbucks Corp.
According to a the food bank, the grant funds will directly fight hunger during a time of need by providing more mobile food pantries throughout local communities where as many as 377,000 people face hunger daily in Bexar County.
“We are proud to partner with Starbucks and Feeding America to ensure that people who struggle with hunger have access to wholesome meals,” Eric Cooper, San Antonio Food Bank president and CEO, said. “This grant exemplifies what we can accomplish when we work together.”
Founded in 1980, the San Antonio Food Bank serves 58,000 individuals a week across 16 counties, one of the largest service areas in Texas. Fighting hunger is the company’s primary mission, but it also serves the community by providing various programs and resources available to families, individuals, seniors, children, and military members in need.
