Public housing authorities will receive a second series of grants that are being given through the Housing Choice Voucher program.
Rep. Will Hurd (R-Texas) has announced grants are being provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The program assists vulnerable citizens within the community that will provide access to proper housing.
“All Texans are battling the global pandemic, and they need continued assistance to make it through," Hurd said. "This additional $3.8 million for local housing authorities will help ensure proper housing for low-income families, the elderly and disabled in communities across the 23rd Congressional District. The CARES Act has helped Americans in many ways, from aiding small businesses to increased testing, and it’s good to see it continues living up to what it was meant to do: Care for Americans nationwide.”
In retrospect, Hurd announced the initial series of grants that were $2.8 million for public housing authorities that are in the 23rd Congressional district.
