Public Announcement:
Construction has begun on the I-35 Northeast Expansion (NEX) Central Project, TxDOT’s project that will provide added capacity and enhance safety for drivers.
The 9.5-mile transportation improvement project, from I-410 North in Bexar County to FM 3009 in Guadalupe County, will have three elevated lanes in both directions, including high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes, and will incorporate flyovers to I-410 North and Loop 1604 West. I-35 NEX Central is the first of three expansion projects along a 20-mile stretch of I-35 from just north of AT&T Center Parkway to FM 1103.
Here are the planned lane closures this week:
Lane closures 7/10/2022 – 7/16/2022 for the Area:
Sunday July 10 until Friday July 15 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM.
Right lane closure on northbound frontage road of I-35 from Pat Booker Road to Loop 1604 for geotechnical and drilling work.
Right main lane closure on southbound I-35 from Forum Parkway to Pat Booker Road for geotechnical and drilling work.
Left lane closure on northbound frontage road of I-35 from Pat Booker Road to Forum Parkway for geotechnical and drilling work.
Left main lane closure on westbound Loop 1604 from Pat Booker Road to Gateway Boulevard for geotechnical and drilling work.
Olympia Parkway exit ramp (exit 173) closure on northbound I-35 and left lane closure on northbound frontage road of I-35 from Forum Access to Olympia Parkway follow the detour signs.
Tuesday July 12 until Thursday July 14 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM.
Right lane closure on I-35 and left lane closure on southbound frontage road of I-35 between Pat Booker Road and Ferrell Road for installation of barrier.
Wednesday July 13 until Friday July 15 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM.
Right lane closure on southbound I-35 and closure of southbound I-35 entrance ramp and from Pat Booker Road to Ferrell Road for barrier work. All traffic must continue on southbound I-35 frontage road to access southbound I-35.
Alternating lane closures on westbound and eastbound Pat Booker Road from southbound I-35 frontage road to northbound I-35 frontage road for barrier work.
Closure of Pat Booker Road exit ramp on southbound I-35 connector ramp from McMorris Boulevard to Pat Booker Road for barrier work. All traffic must continue southbound on I-35 and U-turn at Judson Road to access Pat Booker Road.
